Could it be Magic?

Hi Bloggers!  Welcome to my bit of the Pootlers Blog Hop.

If you're following the blog in order the you've arrived here from Caroline's blog and you know what it's all about.   If not, please do go back through the list and take a look at all the fab things the Pootlers have produced.

I just love cards that do something, and today's card is an example of a magic window card.  Here is is -

Pull on the tab at the top and -

Magic!

We're basing our posts around the latest Stampin' Up!  catalogues. and as we're still in the middle of the Sale-a-Bration promotion, my card uses products that you can get for free as part of the promotion.  In fact, the only items I used that weren't part of Sale-a-Bration were the white card, the ink pads,  the Window sheet and the adhesive.  Even the Blendabilities pens I used to colour the bird came from Sale-a Bration - not bad eh!

We've got some Blog Candy up for grabs - to be in with a chance of winning a bundle of goodies, including the Best Day Ever stamp set, the Best Year ever paper set and the co-ordinating ribbons and buttons, all you have to do is work your way through the hop before midday on Sunday and leave a comment on every blog.  The winner will be chosen at random and announced in the Pootles Craft Forum and here on Tuesday, 3d March.

You can see how I made the card in this YouTube tutorial.  It's easy when you know how!  (Need a diagram?  Download one from here!)

Onward, now, to Heidi's blog, and thank you for visiting!

Update- due to quality issues, Blendabilities have been discontinued.  However, Stampin' Write markers are available instead.  If you are using Stampin' Write, stamp your image in Staz-On.

Pop Up Cube

Tuesday again already - and more than half way through February.  Time for another kinetic card, would you say?

Today’s action card is a pop-up cube.  I love the way the cube snaps into shape when it's taken out of the sleeve - but then, I do love a card that does something other than look pretty!

To make a  3-inch cube I used two sheets of A4 card – you can find a diagram with all the details of where to fold and where to cut here.

The video is quite long (about 20 minutes)  - part one shows how I made the pop up cube

part two shows how I made the sleeve.  I hope you enjoy!

See you soon,

Love is in the air..

Hello everyone, and welcome to my blog.

As you probably know, I'm an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator and I truly love SU! products.    However,  I was a crafter long before I discovered SU! and I've always enjoyed creating things from scratch.  So now and then, I'd like to share a technique that I've picked up here and there.

One of my Facebook friends shared a link to these rolled crepe paper roses and I had to have a go.  They are so easy to do (warning - they are addictive!) and here are my first attempts -

The instructions suggested working with a length of about 2 feet of crepe paper streamer.  I got the streamers from Amazon and they cost me £1.80 each.  There's over 80 feet on a roll so you can get lots of flowers out of one streamer.  You simply fold over one edge of the length of crepe paper and roll it up, giving it a twist every so often to create the look of petals.

I found that you could vary the size of the rose as well.  For a large rose I used about 2 feet of crepe paper and folded over the top third;  for a medium rose I used about 1 1/2 feet of streamer and folded it in half, and  I made small roses by using just about 1 foot of paper and folding it in thirds.  The heart below took one streamer with a couple of roses left over -

I hot-glued them to a polystyrene heart base and added some Stampin' Up! burlap ribbon (well, SU! had to get in there somewhere!)
Here's a quick tutorial -

Hope you enjoyed.  If you have any questions, please get in touch.  I love to hear from you.

Till next time,

Keren

Come Fly With Me!

Hello everyone, welcome to my paper crafting blog - thank you for visiting.
You may have noticed that I do love kinetic and action cards.  Today's card is a Penny Spinner card - the balloon moves.

It's not easy to show it in a still picture but fear not, I've made a tutorial on YouTube,

I hope you find it useful, but if you have any questions, please do get in touch.  I love hearing from you!

I'm entering this in

See you soon!

Gift Card Slider

Hello again, bloggers, and than you for visiting my blog.

Today I've been playing with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits dies.
When you pull on the tab at the top of the card, the gift card holder sides out - but not all the way.  and when you've finished, it slides back in again, nice and neat.

You can see the tutorial on YouTube -

There's the list of materials I used.
